Hello mentors, families, and friends! We can't believe that summer is coming to an end and that we are so close to going back to school! As we are entering this time, I have a few things I want you all to consider:
1. Reconnect with your mentees
Mentors, I encourage you to do something to connect with your mentee before the school year begins. Whether you have been engaged with them during the summer or not, this a great time to get on the same page with your mentee. Use your time together to establish when you will meet. You also can help them establish goals for the year. Last but not least don't miss the opportunity continue to point them to Jesus. First Peter is the book we are studying this month. We invite you and your mentee to join us.
2. Car Insurance
We strive for excellence at Gospel Village and hope to only get better each year. To do this, we also want to ensure safety for our mentees. Mentors, by August 15th we need a copy of your auto insurance. Our insurance is requiring this of us to make sure our mentees are safe as you transport them from place to place. If you could please email a picture or a copy of your insurance to Bailey at firstname.lastname@example.org by August 15th we would greatly appreciate it.
2. Pine Cove Outback
We're headed to camp August 5th-10th and we could not be more excited! Please keep our mentees and staff in your prayers as we travel. Please also pray for transformed hearts!
August begins our quest to serve more kids and families, and therefore we need more mentors. Would you prayerfully consider someone you know that could potentially mentor and please refer them to Bailey Crawford at email@example.com or 903-752-2556. We would also appreciate you inviting potential mentors to Discover Gospel Village. They can register for a date and time that works them here.
Remember it takes a village and we thank you for being a part of it!
Sr. Director of Ministries
New Mentor Coordinator Introduction
1. What is your name?
Argenis Campos (Henny)
2. Tell us a little about yourself!
I am from Los Angeles, California and I recently graduated from California State University, Northridge, earning a BA in Child and Adolescent Development. I moved to Tyler last August after marrying my husband, David Nix, who is from Tyler. I originally heard about The Mentoring Alliance when I was recruited to work for Rose City Summer Camps in 2016. After becoming affiliated with this ministry, I became aware of its impact in the community and I am excited to be apart of it.
3. What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is sushi. If I could eat it everyday, I would.
4. What are you most looking forward to as a Mentor Coordinator?
What I am most looking forward to as a Mentor Coordinator is to present the goodness of God to all the mentees and their families when joining them with Christ-like mentors and providing benefiting resources that will help them reach their full potential.
