MENTORING ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES NEW LOCATION IN WACO, TX
Mentoring Alliance is excited to serve families in the Waco, TX community, with one goal, to see hearts and families transformed in our community.
Mentoring Alliance, a non-profit organization that serves children and families in the East Texas Area, announced today the organization’s official expansion to Waco, TX. The expansion is the first for the organization since its start in 2015. After more than a year of discussions, Mentoring Alliance and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Waco Board of Directors have signed an acquisition and transition agreement, allowing Mentoring Alliance to acquire and build on the rich history of the current Boys & Girls Clubs of Waco; with the transition completed on May 31, 2021.
“I began my involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Waco in 2003 as a sponsor and participant of their annual golf tournament. At the time my father, Don Sharp, served as Board Chairman for the organization and I’ve served on the board since 2009. The BGC of Waco holds a special place in my heart. I got involved because I loved the mission of helping kids in the Waco area and providing a positive and safe place for kids after school and during the summer. It’s for that same reason that I am excited to welcome and partner with the Mentoring Alliance to continue helping as many kids as possible in our community,” says Brad Sharp, Boys & Girls Club of Waco Board Chairman.
Mentoring Alliance is excited to step into the rich history and legacy that the Boys & Girls Club of Waco has built since 1909, at its inception, and have the opportunity to serve the families of the Waco community.
“Our primary aim, or our mission, is to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope. We've been doing this for decades in the East Texas area and have seen incredible results. We are beyond excited to build on the great work of the BGC of Waco by partnering with school districts, churches, and other organizations to impact thousands of new families in the Waco area," President & CEO Kevin East said.
Mentoring Alliance is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit with a mission to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope. The organization impacts thousands of kids and families a year through its programs. To learn more about Mentoring Alliance and its programs, visit www.thementoringalliance.com.
