Friends,

Advent is a season of waiting, a season of expectation and anticipation. This year more than any previous year, I understand the weight of waiting.  It can feel heavy at times, but hope sustains us.

In the same way that those awaiting Messiah were surprised by how God actually chose to send him to earth, I find this season a surprise in how God is choosing to work in us.  I wouldn’t have chosen COVID or cancer or racial unrest or political strife, but God has chosen all of that to refine us, to shape us, to draw us to Him.

I have a prayer that I have been saying over and over during my cancer treatment:

For Your Glory

These phrases have sustained me over some difficult days, but they serve as a reminder of what we do every day here at Mentoring Alliance. We mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope. Thank you for building the Kingdom by God’s power for God’s glory. We are honored to be co-laborers with you.
